Update #66 - Filling in the Gaps

Greetings everyone,

In this update, we will be sharing a statement from our CEO Alexander Gomez in regard to recent events. This was emailed to all backers on our mailing list but we have been informed not all backers have read this message. We will also be sharing exciting new photos from the assembly line, including new photos of the PCB, Power Button and of course, the Dune Pro itself!

Email:

“We would like to thank all of our amazing supporters for your cooperation throughout the Dune Pro Campaign. We are reaching out to everyone to provide transparency in regard to recent events.

On the 24th May 2021, due to extreme weather conditions, there was a power outage in the Guangdong Province, impacting the factory where the Dune Pro is assembled. This power outage lasted for three days, between the 24th and 27th May. Regrettably, we overlooked communicating this information to our backers, as we believed it would not impact our projected shipping date of the 28th May 2021.

Unfortunately, the power outage in the Guangdong Province resulted in a 3-day delay to the shipping process of the first batch of the Dune Pro. Everyone in the Dune Team apologies for the inconvenience this delay has caused our backers. Rest assured, the Dune Team are working hard to ensure the Dune Pro shipped to all our backers as soon as possible.

We would like to address another concern our Backers have. We have faced challenges in the Mass Production of the Dice-Y Cover. However, we are working directly with the factory to fine-tune the process, allowing the Dice-Y Cover to be effectively produced on a large scale.

Moving forward, we will ensure to communicate all important updates through Indiegogo. Backer feedback is of the utmost importance to the Dune Team, therefore if you have any questions please email info@dunecase.com.

Let us look positively on this as we pursue to provide all our backers with an exceptional PC Case that provides the users with the Power To Choose.”

Dust Filters:

The Dune Pro comes with 3 x 140mm Dust Filters, located on the front of the chassis and a Dust Filter under the PSU Shroud. This was an addition we made upon backer request.

Front Dust Filters:

Feet and Rubber Pads:

Rubber Pads adhere to each foot of the Dune Pro. This is to ensure the Dune Pro stays in place when on a desk. The first version of the rubber pads had some defects in the production process. We quickly decided to make minor tweaks to the Rubber Pads to ensuring the shape matches that of the foot.

PCB and Power Button:

The PCB and Power Button has seen major changes compared to the Dune Pro prototype. The PCB is thicker and now features recessed USB-C Ports. Both of these changes improve the long-term durability of the component.

Packaging:

We shared the packaging for the Dune Pro a few months ago. All the packaging has been produced, Alex personally helped out with the construction of the boxes at the assembly line.

Dune Pro Assembly Process:

We recently uploaded a video on YouTube, showing an example of the Dune Pro Assembly Process. You can watch the video here: https://youtu.be/x9JC9vvNvFU  We are excited to share some more photos from the Assembly Line!

Many thanks,
