Greetings everyone. We would like to start this update by thanking you, the backers, for your continued support, understanding and patience through these difficult times. We are excited to share the steps we have made in the last couple of weeks with regards to manufacturing and the Visa.
As we get ever closer to getting Alex into China, we have been renegotiating the Terms and Conditions of the contracts with our factories. The contracts we agreed on with the factories 6 - 7 months ago are vastly different to what is needed today, and while many factories complied with the new Terms and Conditions a few months prior, the remaining wanted to renegotiate once we are closer to arriving in China. In a similar light, we have revisited the Terms and Conditions with our shipping companies, to ensure the individual parts shipping from factories to the manufacturing line, and the Dune Pro from the manufacturing line to your doorstep arrive in the same condition they left.
We have made significant progression in the last couple of weeks to update the Terms and Conditions with the remaining factories and our shipping companies to ensure the manufacturing and shipment of the Dune Pro operates as smoothly as possible.
There are two key requirements we need before travelling to China, and we are pleased to say that we have made progress into obtaining Alex’s Visa, thanks in part to the highly efficient Hong Kong Visa Officers.
The first requirement is a Letter of invitation from a Business with a Business Relation. Alex has obtained his Business Letter from one of our factories in China. The second requirement is an Invitation from the Foreign Affairs Department in China. This is still a work in progress. The company inviting needs to register the invitation, including all details and reasons why they are inviting Dune to China, to the Foreign Affairs Department. Alex is in direct contact with the Government, working to fast track the process.
Once both requirements are met, Alex will be able to obtain the VISA he requires to get into China.
We have been working hard to form a contingency plan, so if Alex is unable to get into China, we can still make progress to meet the November shipping.
If Alex is unable to get into China, our engineer Kevin will fly from the USA to stand in for Alex. Kevin has been working side by side with Alex since the beginning of the Dune Pro and knows the Dune Pro and operations inside out, therefore is suitable to work with the Project Manager currently in China to oversee aspects such as negotiations and inspecting the production line.
New Team, New Marketing
We are excited to announce three new members to the Dune Team, Jay, Martin and Matt. Jay will be responding to any emails we receive, to ensure a quicker turn around for replies. Martin will be managing our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages and will be posting Dune content daily. Finally, you may have seen Matt around already and he will be helping out on the Official Dune Pro Discord and responding to your comments on Indiegogo. As a team, we have been working on an exciting new marketing campaign for the Dune Pro, which we will release soon, so stay tuned!
Another Thank You! We would like to end the update in the same way we started, by thanking everyone who has supported us with the Dune Pro. Without you, Dune would not be where it is today, so we are incredibly grateful to every backer.
